Irreverent thought for the day…
It would be nice if the Luders Vatican (probably a poor choice of words
right now…) might occasionally issue a directive or update or some bit
of newsworthy prattle once in a while. Why have a class organization
if those who administer it remain so removed and silent?.
May I suggest that our distant president, if he can think of nothing
else, at least send out a missive acknowledging the new season and the
hope that it will be successful. He might even list the year's class
and fleet officers. Is there no news or effort worthy of mention?
Could not some news be manufactured? (e.g. Class President Admires
Smooth Bottoms.)
My own Mount Desert Island, Maine, fleet has shown quite clearly what
results when fresh enthusiasm is wedded with concentrated effort. And
this prompted after a hiatus of some 30 years of inactivity. Surely,
surely. it is incumbent on our national class to occasionally give
evidence that it is not only still alive, but doing something besides
quietly treading water somewhere.
Good Luders people, let's perk things up!
