Island Luders
fleet - revived after about 20 years of inactivity. Last summer, =
under the
auspices of the Southwest Hrabor Fleet we managed an August series and
participation in two local regattas - with five Luders out in
total.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>We are searching for new boats to bring =
to our
fleet should anyone know of any for sale. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Additionally, I am researching the =
history of our
two local fleets on the Island - Northeast Harbor and Bar Harbor- =
and
would like to locate boats that have been sold away. Both those =
clubs
ceased Luders racing in the 1970s. I have a fairly =
accurate
list of boat histories from local club yearbooks.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Interestingly at least three boats seem =
to have
remained in their original families (Rockefeller, Zirnkilton, Goriansky) =
with
others very close behind. So far as I can determine there are =
about 15 or
so Luders in the greater Mount Desert area. Most are in pristine =
condition,
although I know of two which require extensive restoration.</FONT></DIV>
